A well-organised freezer means less forgotten food. Add each item as you seal it — the planner sorts everything by category and shows which bags to use first. Nothing is uploaded; your list stays in this browser.

Freezer organisation planner

Log what goes into your freezer. The planner groups items by category and shows a "best quality by" date based on FoodSafety.gov freezer guidance. Your list is saved only in this browser.

Planner uses the shorter end of each range.

Organising tip: keep a "use first" zone at the front of the freezer for anything within a month of its date, store bags flat until frozen, then file them upright by category.

Simple freezer organisation system

  1. Label every bag with the contents, weight or portions and the date sealed. A permanent marker on the bag before filling is easiest.
  2. Freeze flat on a tray, then stand bags upright like files once solid.
  3. Group by category — beef, poultry, fish, vegetables, cooked meals — using bins or shelves.
  4. Keep a “use first” zone at the front for anything near its best-quality date.
  5. Keep the freezer at 0°F (−18°C) and check it with an appliance thermometer.

Dates in the planner are for quality, not safety — food kept frozen at 0°F remains safe indefinitely. See the Food Storage Reference Guide for the full chart.
